Free Sole-O Volunteer

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Free Sole-O is a community-led shoe cleaning and restoration program that keeps climbing shoes in circulation and out of landfills. Every other month, volunteers come together to clean donated shoes, prep pairs for redistribution, and support our gear equity work across NYC. It’s a simple, hands-on way to make climbing more accessible and sustainable for our community.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Coordinate volunteers for shoe cleaning days and shoe fitting events

  • Manage shoe donation pickups and drop-offs by organizing drivers within the organization

  • Oversee program logistics including inventory flow, storage, and event prep

  • Communicate with resolers, brands, and partner organizations to secure resoling support and gear donations

  • Attend shoe cleaning events and fittings to help run setup, flow, and breakdown

Time Commitment: 7 to 10 hours a month, hybrid.
